Connect Four is a two-player strategy game with one simple goal: create a line of four of your discs before your opponent does.
Set up the game
The board has seven columns and six rows. Players choose different disc colours, and the starting player makes the first move.
Take turns dropping discs
Choose any column that is not full. Your disc falls to the lowest empty space in that column. Your opponent then makes one move.
- Only one disc is played per turn.
- A full column cannot accept another disc.
- Players may build on top of either colour.
Make a line of four
You win by connecting four discs horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. The match ends immediately when a valid line is completed.
What counts as a draw?
If all 42 spaces fill without either player connecting four, the match is a draw. Start a new round and try a different opening.
